The systems you can’t break are the ones you can’t keep.

For many established Australian organisations, the platforms running payroll, finance, customer records, operations and reporting were built a decade or more ago. They still work — until they don’t.

Vendor support is winding down. The people who built the system have moved on. Every change takes longer, costs more and carries more risk than it should.

You already know what needs to change. The hard part is changing it without taking the business offline in the process.

What we do.

Four practices, one focus: modernising the systems established Australian businesses run on.

Legacy system assessment and modernisation roadmap

We start by understanding what you actually have — the systems, dependencies and risks. The output is a sequenced roadmap that tells you what to migrate, in what order, and how to do it safely.

Cloud migration and application modernisation

Moving workloads to Azure, AWS or hybrid cloud — and deciding case by case whether to lift-and-shift, re-platform or re-architect.

Data migration and integration

We design and run data migrations that preserve history, maintain integrity and integrate cleanly with downstream systems and reporting.

Senior IT contractor placement

Experienced contractors embedded into your team for specific engagements. No graduates billed at senior rates.

How we work.

01

Assess

We map your current systems, dependencies and risks. You get an honest written assessment, not a sales document.

02

Plan

We build a sequenced roadmap with options, trade-offs, timing and cost so decisions are informed.

03

Deliver

We deliver with senior consultants and clear weekly progress. The business keeps running while the modernisation happens.

CASE STUDY

Delivered a four-workstream legacy modernisation programme at Dyno Nobel Limited — ~500 application components, 30 SQL databases and DNL’s core Azure Landing Zone — across six migration waves over eleven months.

Situation

An ASX-listed global explosives manufacturer carrying material technical debt: end-of-life servers, unsupported operating systems, no cloud landing zone, and a corporate demerger requiring clean system separation before an immovable regulatory Day 1.

Action

DG Systems as Program Director. Four parallel workstreams — server uplift, application remediation, cloud landing zone establishment, remote network and voice — coordinated across Fujitsu, Logicalis and Kiandra as delivery partners.

Outcome

Core Azure Landing Zone live at end February 2025. Six migration waves completed through 2025. Modernised operational estate positioned for further modernisation under Project AIR.

Four workstreams. Six waves. ~500 application components + ~30 SQL databases migrated. Core Azure Landing Zone delivered. Zero critical business disruption. On time, on plan.
